I see the GOP echo chamber is at it again, reporting the family of Ryan Jopek, a soldier who died in Iraq has asked Barack Obama to stop wearing a bracelet with his name on it. Apparently, the father said that. But Jopek's mother, disagrees. She says she's ecstatic that Obama mentioned the bracelet in his debate with John McCain.
I don't know all the dynamics in this family. Nor all of the dynamics between various family membes and the Obama campaign. But it's clearly more complicated than the "Obama bad" message spread by some drive-by bloggers.
"There are men, in all ages, who mean to exercise power usefully; but who mean to exercise it. They mean to govern well; but they mean to govern. They promise to be kind masters; but they mean to be masters." Daniel Webster
