You're a guy with an economics background. Can't you come up with some kind of graph that quantities the infinitesimal profit of policing and modifying posts on your blog versus the dual costs of wasted time and hits to one's integrity and reputation?
Seriously, wouldn't that graph look something like an Escher print?
