Gang Rape Is Apparently a Cure for Lesbianism in South Africa

Human rights groups say the police routinely ignore victims of rape, especially if they are lesbian.

Sad. Yes, the male culture in South Africa is macho, but not nearly as much as other cultures. Most of the fault lies with their inadequate police force. It was originally trained to support apartheid and not fight crime. When apartheid ended, no black South African wanted to sign up. Many whites were let go. They have to get their act together and build institutions and support leadership.

That said, their Constitution is more progressive than most Western countries. They've enshrined human rights for homosexuals in their Constitution.
