"There are men, in all ages, who mean to exercise power usefully; but who mean to exercise it. They mean to govern well; but they mean to govern. They promise to be kind masters; but they mean to be masters." Daniel Webster

A Ron Paul Democrat?

South Carolina Democratic Senate candidate Bob Conley apparently supported Ron Paul during his presidentian campaign. Judging by his Web site, he seems more of a Pat Buchananite than a libertarian. But he's certainly more conservative than the Republican incumbent, Lindsey Graham. Well, conseravtive in the old sense, before it came to mean nothing more than perpetual war, Jesus and budget deficits. If he's elected, it will be interesting to see how he fits in with the other Democrats in the Senate.
